Watch Systems was established in 1999 as part of
Fuelman, a Louisiana-based fleet fuel card provider. Fuelman
acquired in-house mapping technology to create location guides
for its customers. Having acquired this mapping capability,
Fuelman's CEO, Lou Luzynski, sought out new ways to deploy
it.
After learning of the requirements imposed
by various state and federal laws aimed at keeping the public
better informed regarding sex offenders, a product called
WatchMap™ was developed. This product
was aimed principally at using mapping technology to allow
law enforcement to determine notification recipients automatically
and ease the burden of notification compliance. A separate
company, which ultimately was split out as Watch Systems,
LLC in June 2000, was founded for the purpose of marketing
this product and others like it. Watch is owned by a group
led by former Fuelman CEO Lou
Luzynski.
After deploying the Watchmap OffenderWatch
product, Watch developed the additional products included
in its Watchmap Suite of products and now provides a variety
of innovative solutions to business and government involving
mapping, Internet -based and other Thin Client applications
and custom designed software packages.
